Where are you located/based out of? : Atlanta, GA

Where did your inspiration for photography begin?: My inspiration for photography started 7 years ago when I lost my mother and as I was making her funeral arrangements realized I didn't have very many images of her at all and none were professional quality images. It made me sad that I would have to use a cellphone photo of my mother at her funeral. At that moment I wanted to help make sure that I used my talents to help other people get amazing photos of their family and friends.

How would you describe your photography style?: My photography style is Documentary. I think that the best way to describe it is to say I like to let the moments happen and capture the things around me. I want to capture my clients memories. I don't want to be apart of them. When they have their first kiss at the alter they shouldn't think of how close I was to them. They should remember that moment as it should be without their photographer right next to them.

Did you study photography in school or are you self taught?: I did some college course on traditional dark room photography but I am pretty much self taught. Long nights with youtube videos and lots of red bull.

What is a good lesson you have learned this year in photography or your business?: This past year I learned that setting goal that seem unrealistic isn't a bad thing. I should always challenge myself to be better and reach for the impossible.

If you could encourage a new photographer in one area, what would it be?: I would focus on interactions with the client. I build solid relationships with my brides and grooms so that I can have a pleasant experience and my couples think of my company as the easiest part of the wedding planning experience.

What’s the best advice you would give the YOU of last year?: Stop letting things I can not change be a distraction and focus on the bigger picture.

What would be your dream photography assignment/client to work with and why?: I feel like my dream assignment and client would have to be working with the TV show Americas Next Top Model. I would love to be a part of the show working with different models and shooting amazing photos for these women to compete. I used to watch the show all the time and even though it is not as popular anymore I would love to work on the set.

Do you feel like you’ve mastered the work/life balance?: Yes. I think that the work/life balance is going to be hectic and it will have a little chaos sprinkled in there. I know this and accepting that the balance I have is as good as it is going to get.
