4th Annual National Black Female Photographers Day—September 12, 2015
National Black Female Photographers Day is an opportunity for our sisters in photography to reach out to their communities and with them, explore the beauty of their cities through guided photo tours. Each tour will be led by a BFP group member in these participating cities:

Atlanta: Tour Historic Oakland Cemetery. It is a showplace of sculpture and architecture, and a botanical preserve with ancient oaks and magnolias. It is also a flourishing wildlife habitat, public park and picturesque setting less than a mile from the heart of downtown Atlanta.

Richmond, VA: Tour the Turning Basin at the Richmond Canal Walk and onto the 17th Street Farmers Market in Shockoe Bottom (http://www.rvariverfront.com/sites/turningbasin.html).
Meet at 7:30 am for group shots and headshots at First Freedom Center, 14 S. 14th Street, Richmond, VA. Walking portion of tour will then start at 9am.

Washington DC: Tour sites from Union Station to the Smithsonian Museums.

Jersey City, NJ: Tour the waterfront on the Hudson River.
Meet at 10 am at the PATH Train Station at Exchange Place, Jersey City.

Raleigh/Durham (Triangle), NC: Tour main attractions of Downtown Raleigh.
Meet at 10am at the corner of Parham/Wolfe street for introductions and a group shot. From there the group will travel North towards Martin street along Moore Square, in the direction of the Raleigh Convention Center.

Oklahoma City, OK: Tour downtown Oklahoma City and support a photographer project reveal.
Meet at 9 am downtown at 4th & Robinson at the OKC Bombing Memorial.

Orlando, FL: Tour the Park Ave shopping district, the Winter Park Farmers Market and Hannibal Square Heritage Center.

Houston, TX: Tour the area in and around the Market Square Park.

This is a great way to be introduced to the Black Female Photographers group and explore the art of photography with knowledgeable women. Afterwards there will be an opportunity for a casual lunch to network and learn more about the group and tour participants (all participants are responsible for paying for their own lunches).
